Rissa and Melvin's love story began in the spring of 2016. Rissa was a freshman in college who frequently visited Trevecca University to catch up with some high school friends. It was there that she met Melvin, a fellow freshman at Trevecca, who happened to share mutual friends with Rissa. Their paths crossed a few times as they hung out in groups, but it was one special night at a friend's birthday party that changed everything.

The next day, after having a few drinks with friends, Melvin decided to take a chance and text Rissa to get to know her better. From there, they decided to go on a date and spent an afternoon walking around the Nashville library, discovering shared interests and passions.

Their first official date consisted of getting pizza, browsing books at McKay's bookstore, and indulging in mangonadas. It was the perfect day, and they've continued to celebrate their anniversary in the same way ever since.

The pandemic brought an unexpected turn to their journey, but it didn't stop them from growing stronger. On their fourth anniversary, Melvin proposed to Rissa, and they decided to wait three years to tie the knot.

Together, they've shared many accomplishments, including Rissa graduating with a Bachelor's in Culinary Arts Management, and Melvin graduating with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. They are both thriving in their respective careers, and during the pandemic, they took a leap of faith and purchased their dream home. They've been renovating it to make it their own ever since.

Through all the ups and downs, Rissa and Melvin have remained each other's rock. They've created countless memories and built a life full of love and laughter. Today, they're excited to start the next chapter of their journey as husband and wife.
